Steelers going to stick with Mitch Trubisky as starter amid loss to Cleveland

After half-hour of play on Thursday night, it seemed that Mitch Trubisky became on his manner to silencing anybody who has been wanting Kenny Pickett to Take over him because the Steelers` beginning quarterback. But after a lackluster 2nd 1/2 of for Pittsburgh's offense, the query as to whom must be the starter lives on.

Following the 29-17 loss to the Browns, Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin was asked if he might take into account making any considerable adjustments over the subsequent days, which includes the quarterback position.

And he said this -"I'm not in that mindset," he added,  "I'm interested in reviewing this tape and looking at the totality of it and figuring out how we collectively get better. So, the answer to that question is definitively no."

At the end  it did not bring about a win, Trubisky had his nice overall performance up to now as Steelers quarterback. He crowned two hundred passing yards for the primary time (formally throwing for 207 yards on 20 of 32 passing) at the same time as scoring a landing at the floor to assist deliver the Steelers a 14-thirteen halftime lead.

Trubisky, after being criticized for his conservative play in remaining Sunday's loss to the Patriots, threw substantially greater downfield photographs on Thursday that covered his 32-backyard final touch to rookie George Pickens withinside the first half.

Trubisky led the Steelers on a promising pressure to begin the second one half. The pressure stalled, however, while jogging again Jaylen Warren`s 35-backyard catch-and-run become waived off after offensive tackle Chukwuma Okorafor become referred to as for being illegally downfield at the play. The Steelers punted on that pressure and might continue to punt on their subsequent 3 drives. They have been capable of prepare a past due scoring pressure earlier than in the long run jogging out of time.

"We've just got to be better in the second half. I thought in the first half we were pretty good,'' Trubisky said. "We're getting there, it's just not where it needs to be in order to get a victory. I thought in the first half we made some steps in the right direction. The second half just wasn't good enough."

"I thought he made some plays, but we all collectively came up short," Tomlin says after he was asked to assess his quarterback's performance. "That's how we measure performance. Winning is our business, and we didn't handle business."
